Formula used

Starting pickaxes = merge ratio raised to the number of tier jumps. Total merge actions = (starting pickaxes − 1) ÷ (merge ratio − 1). These are mathematical estimates, not developer-published costs.

What does the Pickaxe Tycoon merge calculator estimate?

It estimates the number of same-tier starting pickaxes and total merge actions needed to reach a target tier from a starting tier.

Why does the calculator ask me for the merge ratio?

The calculator does not publish an unverified game rule. Select the ratio visible in your current Pickaxe Tycoon session so the estimate matches what you observe.

Does this include mining time or coin costs?

No. It calculates merge quantities only. Mining speed, tower income, boosts, prices, and update-specific effects are not included.

Why can the required number become very large?

Each tier jump multiplies the starting requirement by the selected ratio, so the quantity grows exponentially over many tiers.
